I know that it's "normal" for psychiatrist sessions to last 15-30 minutes after the initial one, but that doesn't mean all psychiatrist and sessions fit the "normal". Does this psychiatrist also do therapy? If this is only the second or third time your meeting with a psychiatrist (pdoc) maybe they just want to get to know you better. Maybe it was an accident, pressed the wrong key/clicked the wrong box on the computer? At the end of my first appointment mine said he was going to go ahead and schedule me for an hour since we're still getting to know each other. It could be meds, but not necessarily.
