I got veteran's housing about a year ago. I live in a nice hotel suite full time.

I've always been proud to be a veteran but where I live there are about 60 other veterans that also live here. I have seen and heard about horrible things that happen here with veterans (drug abuse, alcohol abuse, a shooting over a drug deal, veterans who scam other people). These incidents happen a lot.

The scammers are the worst. They actually can cause me to trigger into my PTSD It's come to the point that I don't associate with them (I fell for a car scam recently and thought my fellow veterans would not do that to a fellow veteran). These people are so off balance and have such a bad reputation here that I am actually ashamed to be a veteran. I think I'd rather keep to myself than deal with these folks. I don't want to be snooty, but it's the only way to keep myself safe.
