She talked about other things too, but since I didn't have any specific questions she just gave me the general run-down of safe sex. What she said that was interesting was that even though he tested clean of STD's and how I am using the Mirena, I should still use a condom in case there were STD's that were undetected or that sometimes the semen can actually cause yeast infections if my body is not used to it. And it is also better going "double dutch" to go the extra mile to prevent pregnancy, because one of my Dad's coworker's wife became pregnant on the Mirena.

Aah right! See we'd go to the family planning clinic or GP for condom/pill advise (even though only the GP can prescribe you the pill)
Yeah, that's the kind of stuff we'd try and cover in sex ed in schools, being ready and common concerns, the percentage of reliability of different forms of contraception, the gestation period of STDs, the risks of not using condoms that are not STD related and the debunking of old wives tales like you can't get pregnant if you douche afterwards etc. But you can also ask at the family planning clinic about those things, the nurses are pretty open even though primarily they're there to give out condoms&advise on types of contraception. Most people who aren't in their teens though go to the GP about contraception (obviously not condoms lol) and I think if you're STD checked they offer you condoms then.
