When you decided to get a hand fan to stay cool. And end up getting 27 of them.
(Along with 3 parasols that you simply must have even though you don't use them.)

When, in the midst of a ridiculous Ebay spree, you are dazzled, drooling, and doggedly determined to get a ridiculously foofy dress in your 2 most hated colors -- pastels no less! It *might* work as a fairy costume for a 6 year old in a play.
However... you're in your 40's. Wear almost all black. And wouldn't be caught dead in a print, let alone a pastel.

Mind you, I HATE shopping.

When you wake up one day thinking it is a great idea to move 3,000 miles to a place you've never been for no reason whatsoever. And are completely exasperated at the suggestion that perhaps it should be visited first. (You know, before you go having to lose money selling a house and uprooting everyone to go to the middle of nowhere where you know absolutely no one...)

When you've have had about 35 jobs and moved about 28 times. And would really like to get your hands on the s.o.b. that coined the term "peak earning years" when your "peak earning" years' incomes are well below poverty line and recently would have had to be DOUBLED to even reach that. Because you just can't quite get it together.

And just because that last one is SO not funny...

When you're standing and dancing around, playing with a glue gun, Sharpie marker and aluminum foil in the process of costume making, have a revelation, throw your hands in the air and yell, "I'm a f***ing GENIUS!!!" And believe it.

While making said costumes (15 of 'em), every time the person you're working with thinks of something useful, you shout, "I've got that! Be right back! Then run and gallop down the street to your house to get it/them. Again and again and again.

When you're dancing on the countertops (all 1' wide of 'em!), in the middle of the night, singing at the top of your lungs and shouting (about the radio), "OMG! They've got my entire old record collection!!!" while you're scrubbing out all the cabinets. Awww, whats so weird about that?! I had clothes on!
