I am new to this forum. I joined in the hopes of writing to people who have some insights into a problem I have had for years, namely fitting into the social work environment. I am a shy person, but usually have no problem talking to people one on one. In an office situtation, however, I tend to stay to myself. As a result, it seems, there is always someone who doesn't like me. I feel very anxious when these people are around and it further inhibits my interactions with others. Eventually I get written off a strange and am marginalized. I have found this to be very painful and have tried various ways to deal with my insecurities, but have not been sucessful. Any advice?
