at once I was feeling down
no where to hide
this distorted frown

no where to go
no where to run
forgot the meaning
of having fun

but then if lifted
like the clouds from the sun
and I realized life was good
all my sadness was done

but I feared to feel good
another thing that could go wrong
afraid to feel it
afraid I wouldn't be strong

but I grinned and faced it
my deepest, darkest fears
it left me exhausted
but it kept the peace that I felt....
