There are other mood stabilizers that might be able to help. ( I have a friend who has rapid cycling & it is very difficult to deal with). Also, your doc can write a letter to your ins. co. & explain why this medication is NECESSARY. My doc had to do that with several of my meds cuz they're expensive & of course ins. doesn't want to pay. My doc sent in medical articles that showed how these meds are good for bp 1. I was freaked when my husband's work changed ins. co. & the new one didn't want to pay. It almost sent me into a relapse due to the stress of worrying that I wouldn't get the meds that had helped me so much. My doc said she would do everything in her power to help me keep the same meds & that she has had success with other patients who ran into this trouble with ins. co.
