I have never heard of the Joy Division. I guess I'm just too old. Oh well! But I do understand of what you are getting at. I really feel that way. In my younger days (such as childhood, teens, and 20s) a lot of the singers in the groups that I loved back then are gone now. It's upsetting to hear their music because of that.

If you can name me groups of the 60s and 70s, I can tell you if someone (or more) in that group have passed away. There are so many. There are some solo ones that are gone from that time, too.

The only one I can think of that was in a group that committed suicide is Curt Corbain of Nirvana. It's a shock that I even like some of their music even though I felt too old for them at the time they came out. Oh another one I can think of is Bob Welsh, who killed himself last year. He was with Fleetwood Mac.
