Well... mixed states are a mix of depression and (hypo)mania. Umm. haha. It doesn't necessarily involve feeling anxious, nervous, or panicky.
A mixed state could be like... hating yourself and having loads of energy and being irritable with everyone and not staying away from people, but kicking your own butt later for everything that you said and did because you feel like you're such a waste of space and yet you just can't stay still and you don't sleep well. ((That is just ONE way.... mixed episodes can show up in lots of different ways)). It could be that you're feelin GREAT and loving life but you're exhausted all the time and just want to sleep and don't really have any interest in doing anything aside from sitting on your butt. It has features from both depression and mania.
Anxiety is well... anxiety. lol. Wow. I think I'm a bit tired right now! Just call me Cap'n Obvious today.
