My understanding is that there is some heredibility (sp?) but I don't remember the statistics.
I think one of the problems in determining this accurately, is that many of us may *feel/think* that some relatives have the disorder, but they have not been officially diagnosed, so in those cases it's very hard to know for sure, especially considering how tricky this diagnosis is.
My first cousin is diagnosed Bipolar I, the only relative I know of.
