This is part of that weird double standard between men and women. If a girl sleeps around, she's a slut (I assume I can use that word here). If a man sleeps around he's a stud.
So if a girl is a virgin over some age, it's a good thing. If a boy is a virgin over a certain age, then something's wrong with him.
Just more societal judgment. Just do it when you're ready and with the right person and don't worry about what other people think about it.
