Another resource would be your doctor, whether he/she is a GP or family practice or internal medicine. I started my severe depressions at 15. My mother also died when I was a teenager & my father wasn't "there" for us kids. I called my doc (who was a pediatrician) & she was great. She really listened & I ended up going in to see her once a week, almost like therapy. I was away at a boarding school so the dorm parent took me in & the doc never told my dad (which I requested) & never charged me for the visits! She came to my wedding years later. --Hope you do reach out to someone. Teenage years are hard, but the unrelenting depression need not be there. Both of my kids had depression (one in high school & one in college) & went on medication & went to therapy. It really helped & neither of them are on medication now so it's not like you have to take it the rest of your life. Some people just go through one period of depression & it doesn't come back after treatment. Let us know how you are doing.--Suzy
