I took a silly little quiz the other day, I don't even remember where I found it. But one of the questions was, who were your favorite teachers.

I listed three of them.

Two were from high school and one from third grade. I've always kept in touch with one of them, but lost track of the one I most wanted to contact.

After some long investigative searches etc. I found her in Nebraska. She moved the year after I graduated then got divorced.

I contacted her to tell her how much she meant to me and we have been in touch ever since.

Two weeks ago I tracked down my third grade teacher and sent off a little note, figuring she wouldn't remember me, but I wanted to thank her for some of the warmest memories I have of childhood, walking with my hand in hers in the playground at recess. It was a safe place for me, and I told her how much I appreciated the extra attention.

I just got a Christmas card!

She thanked me for contacting her and letting her know she made a difference in my life. She talked about my ponytail and how she used to love to watch it swing, lol. She just retired in 2002!

Anyway, it's never too late to tell someone they made a diffference in your life.
