Hello MR1.
I am on medicaid, and I am from New York. The first time I applied; I was denied. I had no income, just came out of treatment for depression, and could not get a job as I was not allowed to work yet.
That being said, a trend I have seen not only with me, but others, is that first time applications tend to get denied. Which is ridiculous. My advice would be to call your states Medicaid office, ask them why you were denied, then apply again. My second application was accepted and I have been on medicaid since 2009. I know it is stressful and annoying, but the trick is to just keep applying and repealing. It's ridiculous how they run the medicaid system here in the US. I think if you apply again, you'll get it.
