Does any woman get leg cramps in connection with clitoral orgasms? I had a really bad one last night - in the right leg. Would have screamed if not for the thin walls in the apartment complex. The cramp lasted for a minute or two, at least (when you have serious leg cramps, a minute feels like a really long time). The right leg still feels a little stiff in a painful way.

I get those from time to time, and in general have a tendency to having leg cramps (possibly genetic - my mom and maternal grandma would have them regularly, and not in connection with orgasms to the best of my knowledge). I know that in their case they were painful, frequent, and lasted for a long time.

I had leg cramps when pregnant with my first child. I was told to eat potassium-rich foods, such as bananas. I have been eating bananas recently so I should not be deficient... I was also told to flex the foot really hard (=trying to stick the heel out as much as possible while pointing the toes towards the body as much as possible and hold the foot in this position until the cramp releases). I did that yesterday, but it took awhile for this trick to work.

My grandmother and mother would prick the calf muscles with a needle to release the cramp. I do not know if that is an old wives tale though. Maybe should ask my doctor.

Why do they occur before orgasms? Do I need to relax more to prevent them (yesterday I had a day full of unexpected events and was just trying to masturbate before bed to speed up falling asleep and forgetting about the stressful events, so I was not relaxed at all)?

I know they are not dangerous - I have been having them for over two decades, from time to time, and still alive , so they are not dangerous, but just... painful! Yikes! Orgasms are a good thing - I do not want to mix them with painful cramps...
