My previous pdoc in California was into alternative meds for depression since all the horrible side effects that I continually had with everything he tried.......
So according to him, it's the Omega 3 EPA that has to be taken at over 1800/day.......& the DHA can be at the 1000 but better the higher you can go.......I have also heard that the pills aren't as good as the liquid fish oil which is what I have been using.....it's basically a double of the dose that is stated on the bottle for me
For me, it really helped with my feelings of depression....it also helped the anxiety & the high blood pressure & the memory......so I highly recommend it in the way that my pdoc suggested because that's the direction I went in taking it just to make sure he was right.
Nordic Naturals is a pretty good quality pill form.....but I have found that at stores like "Good Earth" then have a lot more choices & that is where I actually found the bottled fish oil.
Have heard that Krill oil is also good, but don't know how to translate that into what my pdoc suggested was the right combination.
Remember, it's the Omega-3 EPA that is what functions for the depression & anxiety......DHA is good for all the other heart, body, & mind health.
