My point was that these attempts to be seen as their desired gender are counter-productive, because the oddity of their exaggerated femininity simply raises suspicions that they are not truly females - if every girl in a huge department wears jeans, sneakers, and... how do I explain? I think it is some kind of a surfer look - basically, there is a long sleeve cotton shirt, and on top of it is a short sleeve cotton t-shirt of a contrasting color - when I first saw it, i was really surprised because it did not look right, but then I got used to it...

so if every girl has this kind of a look and only one woman stands out with bright red lipstick etc., it raises suspicions that she might not be a woman (the gait is also REALLY telling... really telling... and, apparently, the gait is hard to alter - as far as I can see, the hormones work towards changing sex characteristics, but not the gait).

So when I wanted to say it, I simply wanted to point out that it is counter-productive, precisely because I realize that these things that accentuate femininity are done on purpose, but in reality they seem to only raise suspicions, contrary to the intent. But if you say this would be insensitive, I would not offer any opinions unless asked.
