I'm a common factory worker. Been there for about 2 and a half years now. We put paper pieces in "feeders" that shoot them out onto the production line, which moves them down to get wrapped in plastic and sent out of the machine onto a conveyer belt, where the person designated as "Line Leader" makes sure they're sealed and that the quality is good, then takes them, puts them in boxes and puts the boxes on a pallet.
We get paid by "piece rate", so basically we get paid by how many pieces we make. So, if the machine is down a lot or the people on it suck at their jobs, or maybe the salesman just decided to be a ****, you're not going to make very much money.
