It's not the mentally ill that fall for scams, it's the vulnerable and insecure (and in a way, " stupid" ones). There are even job scams - you apply for what you think is a well-paid job but they don't respond - and instead rob you because they've got your bank details which you gave because they were supposed to pay you for doing the job.
