Getting scammed, or being vulnerable or insecure.. does not make someone stupid. It means that someone is hopeful and that they maybe have never had the experience of being cared about - how is someone to know the difference if they've never experienced the genuine thing?
Giving away banking information is a daft move, but a good scam can make it a lot easier to do than someone might otherwise expect. Especially if the scam involves love and a relationship.
