I can relate totally. I lost my social security disability for 6 months last year and lived in my house with no electric for 2 months rather than stay any longer with my sister who had spasms because I stepped out of the shower wet without drying off first and got her precious rug wet. I thought that was what rugs were there for.

My friends and family just don't get it. I can't go back to work. Not yet. I wish I could.

My strategy is simply avoidance. Avoid talking about yourself and simply avoid much contact. But I am pretty much a hermit. I like the peace though. Try to find your own peace with where you are now. And know that where you are now is not where you will be.
