If your blood pressure is high enough for you to take propranolol - it is to lower blood pressure - I think it could help. It has side effects on the amygdala, the section of the brain that signals alarm. I was reading a study that suggested giving propranolol to people who were victims of violent crimes because it helps to block the cycle of replaying and reliving it in their minds.

And a suggestion I read here a couple years ago was to get some touch in the form of massage. It is a controlled setting.
