I am also very proud of my 9 year old son. His birthday is in December, so every year we have a massive clean out of his room. Sort of in preparation for new gifts he might get.

We drop all the toys and clothes he no longer wants at an orphanage nearby.

Last year he was a bit clingy and didn't really want to let go of things he no longer plays with. This year he was ruthless! We filled up two huge boxes with toys, all in excellent condition and were able to donate a huge bag of clothing as well.

The orphans are precious. Their eyes all have very sad stories, but their faces light up at the prospect of "new" toys and clothing right before Christmas.
