Even when the "no" is selected, there are still some that show as private and others that show as "reading a post in flat mode" or "reviewing a list of forums". (Mine is selected as "no" yet I have never ever shown up as private).
Sky's explanation that being inactive but still logged on causing it to show up as private makes sense.
