I didn't remember the "storage" option, Sabrina, thanks for reminding me!

I don't have any children of my own but am the "repository aunt" for my 3 brother's children (and have some of my stepsister's things too since I'm 13 years younger) and I've giving an odd book or toy, piece of jewelry or figurine to my nieces/nephews as they are growing up. Save them for grandchildren, etc. I had a kimono my father brought back to me from Japan in 1952 when I was 2 and couldn't figure out what to do with it but gave it to my granddaughter, my husband's son's daughter; my father-in-law (and my husband, his family) was stationed in Japan in the 1950s with the Navy too and is deceased and I felt our granddaughter having the kimono would be a good "symbol"/reminder of her great grandfather's career, etc.
