It was so strange. My dad has been a drag racer for over 40 years, starting on the street and then moving to the dragstrip. He drives a '69 mustang 390, bored out to a about a 402 with fourbarrel holley carb system. It's very very cool. But, I digress. He decided he wanted to check out 'his' track yesterday and just see how the politics are this year so I told him that I'd drive and hang out with him. Well, we drove up there, about an hour away, and had the time of our lives. He didn't race but we met up with people he has known for 25 years and I got to meet them all. He is training me to be his pit crew this summer since my brother is too busy with his new job. I learned how to burn him out properly so that his slicks stick and the positraction works properly. I had so much fun and he stayed sober for the whole day (which is saying ALOT for an alcoholic) I'm very proud of him. When we finally got home, he was so grateful for having this day to spend with me and that I wanted to spend it with him. I just had to tell someone because it was such a great day!!!
I hope all you dad's had one that was just as wonderful.
hugs
tina
Did ya ever think, maybe, that you're not the one who's crazy?
