I have tried this several times myself. When I was younger, I would get it at night, and that was a really scary feeling, and would cause me to wake up my parents to calm down. As the years went on, I have actually found joy in this "disassociation" (had no idea this was a thing!), and I try to enjoy it like it's a rollercoaster.

But yeah, it's weird how it can happen at any time! My advice would be to try and embrace it, like these clever people suggested, and not worry too much about it
