I think what happened to me was something not unlike the Stockholm syndrome, because I used to deify him even though he acted like a monster. He used to give me a task of 50 math problems/week, alongside the work I had to do for school, in order to take me to his place during weekends. He then started calling names and act violently against me too - I remember he beat the hell outta me in the 7th grade because I was too frightened to answer him "what's with the 2 from the H2O".

To the subject now. Ever since they separated, I've been having tics. It all started with head shaking. Then, eye blinking, then both, then verbal tics, damn they were so many I lost track. Right now I'm having a complex one: I close my eyes, shake my head and then do both simultaneous. And of course the verbal ones persist. Is it because of the trauma? Is there anything I can do to stop them? I had short periods when I won't do any of them, but stress seemed to bring it all back.
usually things like tics starting out of the blue like the way you posted is a physical /neurological problem....example about 5-10 years ago I started having the same tic'ing problems you posted about. after many years of ruling things in and out, trying meds and other treatment options we finally arrived at my diagnosis ....Multiple Sclerosis a neurological disease where a person has tic's and other accompanying symptoms.

my suggestion contact your medical doctor and your mental health treatment providers, they can have you go through medical and mental evaluations which will let you know what this problem is with in you.
Thanks for this!
