I can feel depression coming on. Last night I googled Winston Churchill because he always called his depressions his "black dogs". I call them that too.

I found a newspaper article from the Toronto Globe and Mail about a book that a man has written about some of the world's greatest leaders, and how their being mentally ill, like Winston Churchill was, gives them a vital edge in their countries' times of crisis and war. He also talks about the richest of the rich, the most successful men like Ted Turner.

He wrote about mentally ill leaders like Churchill, John F Kennedy, General Sherman, General McLelland, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. He believes that these men, although there is no proof, may have been indeed bipolar. He then compares them to men like George Bush and President Obama, whom he claims are simply too mentally healthy to be good leaders during wartime.

I went to my local library's e-books website and downloaded the book last night. I read the first few chapters. I'm looking forward to reading this book. It looks to be very interesting.

The author is Nassir Ghaemi, and the book is titled "A First-Rate Madness".
