When i first got sick they put me on olanzapine. It kept the voices form getting too out of hand. But the voices were still there all day long. After awhile I heard that risperidone took the voices away from someone on this forum. So i asked my doctor if i could try that. Right away the voices faded to a near nothing. I can still hear them when i focus on hearing them but that is all. I like it because some of the voices were not tormentors and were actually very kind and beautiful. Now i can talk to those ones without having the tormentors ride me all day. When I was on olanzapine they also tried abilify but I didn't notice any difference in my symptoms. I gained a lot of weight on olanzapine too and it gave me rushes of energy when I tried to sleep. Risperidone seems to have little if any side-effects with me. It does not even make me tired, and i am on 4mg of it at night.
