Spoiling the ending of my SkrillMau5 story, I just had to get this done before finishing the rest of it.

Sonny shifted on Joel’s lap, sighing as he found a new comfortable position. Joel looked down at his slumbering raven-haired friend and smiled fondly and then looked up at his mom.

“Guess we better tuck this little guy in,” he chuckled and scooped the tiny dubstep artist into his arms.

“I’ll be back.”

“No, I’ll come with you. Gotta head to bed myself; it’s been an exhausting couple of weeks.” Nancy Zimmerman followed his son who carried the sleeping Sonny into his bedroom where Joel gently laid him down and brought him an extra blanket.

“He likes to have extra blankets,” he said thinking out loud. He looked up at his mom who smiled with a certain look in her eyes.

“What?”

“You love him,” she said dearly.

“Psh, no,” Joel turned away blushing, “I’m not gay, mom.” She tsked playfully.

“You know what I mean. You really love him.”

“I’m just…a little protective, alright?”

“Are you sleeping on the sofa?” Joel turned away again, and she gave him another look.

“Mom,” he whined embarrassed.

“Alright, well, goodnight, Joel.” When she reached the doorway, he stopped and embraced her.

“I love you, Mom,” he said kissing her cheek, “I’m just glad you’re okay.”

“Oh Joel, you know I’m a fighter. I’m just relieved to know you and Sonny are okay and that this is all over.” Joel didn’t let go and she cooed adoringly and rubbed his back soothingly.

“It’s all over, Joel. Things will go back to normal, I promise.”

“But it won’t, Mom. I’m going to have to go back on tour and Sonny will find a new manager and go back to his tour and—”

“That’s a long ways away, Joel. We’ll worry about that when we get there. Right now, it’s time for bed. I’ll make the two of you breakfast in the morning. Goodnight, Joel. I love you.”

“I love you too, Mom.” He finally let go and bid his mother goodnight, closing the door behind him. He crept quietly into his bed pulling the blankets over him and looked at Sonny who faced away from him.

“Sonny?” he whispered.

“Mm?” he moaned softly.

“Are you asleep?” Sonny gave a silent nod his eyes still shut, and Joel looked over his shoulder before leaning in close.

“I love you.” Joel kissed his cheek and wrapped his arms around him, pulling him against his chest as his eyes slowly grew heavy and the two of them slept, finally, at peace.
