I also read about the block of ice thing. I've been much more mindful of my spending while hypo after filing bankruptcy. I still go shopping and I have a few cc's, but I still spend when I technically don't have any money. I just try and remind myself to keep a lid on it. So far, it's worked for me.
P.S. I too stay away from eBay. eBay is a dangerous place!
