I'm so sorry for your loss. Being a dog owner, I understand how much they come to mean to us. I will say that after I had to put my poor Lexi to sleep, due to illness. It took me a while but I found getting another one helped me heal. I will never forget Lexi, but I have the joy of another one that is different but just as special. You will know when you are ready.
