That's true. I have NPD but was dx'd as BPD for years. It seems like any woman that's difficult to treat and self harms gets a BPD dx. There's more PD's than borderline but not many professionals pay much attention to that and it makes me angry.
And I swear bipolar is the most over-diagnosed mental illness right now. I fall short of the diagnostic criteria for bipolar but they keep trying to see something that's not there. I think I just have schizophrenia and not schizoaffective but I get sza a lot because I'm a woman even though my affect has been consistently flat for years. I can't relate to mood issues. I just don't see that in me.
