I know it may not sound like much but sometimes it is worth trying at least while you wait for your appointment
Yes I'll have to try the temperature methods. I read that drinking Vitamin C can also be good, and putting feet in warm water w/ice pack on neck (this apparently confuses the brain somehow).

I've just been through the run of neurologists, head scans etc as well so know how hard it is finding answers and help
Experiencing a migraine as a first timer is a really scary experience, especially when nobody you know has experienced it. It's bloody awful.

Something I really don't like and that I find quite troubling, is how the neurologists down here don't budge for emergencies. Before I was aware of my migraine (or even knew what a migraine was), I had listed off symptoms to several receptionists I called who just didn't give a damn what the hell was going wrong with me; not even if I had to wait 4 months to see anybody. I'm probably being unrealistic, but my family doctor can process greater amounts of people faster than they seem to, and neurologists aren't entirely in high demand
