Hey MD,
I was on this drug years ago, it didn't work for me personally in addressing my depression and anxiety...and I remember some pretty intense side effects from it (such as headaches, sleeplessness and dizziness that wouldn't go away).
I think like all SSRI's everyone reacts to them differently. (The effect can vary and side effects can vary depending on the person). Honestly, MD, not sure on the long-term side-effects of this specific drug, doctors don't really mention that aspect (yeah, nice). I had to taper down off of this stuff with help from my GP and another class of anti-depressants, it went pretty smooth and painless when I went off of them.
I know however, other people have had great success with Celexa. If the side effects don't go away, or you want to go off of them, talk to your pdoc. I hope you have success and it works out for you. Finding the right meds can be a total drag.
