Not at all, it's a valid/good idea and something you want! Hey, if someone like AOL has/had it, it can't be "wrong" :-) I'm sure lots of people would like a feature like that and it certainly wouldn't hurt anything, people who didn't like it wouldn't have to use it! I don't use spellcheck anywhere because I don't like it. Sorry if I made you doubt yourself I was just thinking out loud how such a feature would work.
