Yeah it does!
My mother-in-law was just over (as you already know) and she would comment a lot about how good looking or not a person was on tv...this really annoyed me to bits. You can't mock someone for not looking beautiful or whatever. People don't get a say in what you look like...it just is! Too much emphasises is placed on looks.
