I believe no-one gives a shyte. FB is based on social structures most prevalent to groups of chimps.

It is about appearing to be important and having a circle of admirers who will validate and justify you.

I find it quite fascinating from a scientific point of view. Otherwise... it is BS on an astronomical scale.
