You don't mention where you are, so it is hard to know where to suggest. Most don't allow smoking anymore due to city ordinances against smoking. I know the hospital I use once allowed smoking (which personally I hated because I don't smoke and sometimes the rooms would smell of smoke because peoples' clothing reeked of smoke and left the smell wherever they went). However, the city added a new ordinance against smoking. The hospital tried to get a waiver for the psychiatric unit, but it was a no-go. The do provide patches and ecigarettes (I think that is what they are called; I'm clueless) as an alternative.
