I didn't spend much time on Cymbalta because I had extremely bad night terrors to the point of not sleeping (didn't sleep for a week straight... not good!), I felt extremely numb and disconnected from everything else. I didn't want to be involved in anything but video games and even then, that became a chore. So, I think it's just a side effect of the drug.

If it gets so unbearable talk to your doctor about it instead of trying to sit it out, of course give it longer then a week to get into your system. My pdoc says it can take a drug anywhere between 6-9 wks to work its way through your system.

And as for feeling discouraged, I feel you 100%! I think a lot of people are probably in the same boat you and I are in. I wish there was a quick fix but I'm working on my third year of medicine tweaking. I've been on so many I could describe the color, shape, size, and mg of more meds then my cousin who's a pharm tech. Sometimes the new drugs work and I feel better, then we seem to take 5 giant leaps backwards. It's so frustrating!!

It's frustrating but really there's no other choice. I hope you stick with it.
