Whenever I have felt uncomfortable about telling a male how I felt, it has been because, somewhere deep down, I knew the guy didn't want to hear it.

Now, Mellors -- who is a guy, and I'm not -- obviously has a different perspective on this. And there's story after story in books and film where the hidden love isn't unrequited at all.
