I was on Topomax last year 50mg morning and 50mg evening and lost i believe around 30lbs. I ended up getting off of it due to the dopey effect loss of words. Feeling really dumb all the time. Within the last six months I have gone off of all of my psych meds. I have been off of all psych meds for 3 months now. Doc started me on Topomax generic form I am up to the 50mg in the morning and 50mg in the evening and I have lost nothing. I am however begining to now feel extremely depressed as of yesterday, also feeling the zapping feeling you get when coming off of an antidepressant. Very strange. I am going to start tapering off of it tonight. It is definately not the same as the name brand. The only effect I had with the name brand was weight loss and word recall no depression or brain zaps. This is awful. I finally got off all the medications and I have been doing wonderful and now this. I am so upset. I went from feeling great to completely suicidal 20mins after the brain zaps started. Im crying my eyes out. I could not even sleep last night.
