postcards. they're cheap, postage isn't that much and they're short enough to not be daunting to write. most folks are happy to receive them. service ppl from any country usually appreciate a message of support and a postcard is an easy way to show that.

we had many friends all studying abroad during a five year period. postcards already addressed and stamped were rubberbanded with a pen in our pack or purse at all times.........then when in line we wrote, when sitting waiting for bus we wrote, when stuck in stopped traffic we wrote, when stranded we wrote, when waiting in offices for professionals we wrote.

'nother idea to pass time. plus old fashioned letters and cards are so old skool they're retro cool now!
