12 inches may be a little long, but I am sure user disgression is a consideration. By no means should anyone be encouraged to take more length then one is comfortable with. A foot might be little much, but who says all of it has to be used. Your mate has the right to decide how much is to much. That goes for any man. It should be a comfortable experience for everyone involved.
