There are various anti-seizure meds, I take one for Bipolar disorder, and there are several of those meds out there that work well and are also well tolerated. Please do not give up, try to seek out a new doctor or group of them.
What meds or med did they give you? Depakote can be very sedating, I personally did not like this med when I was put on it, it sedated me so much I almost drove or actually did 3 times, so far the one that has been good with me is Lamictal, non sedating and no weight gain, yay!
I definately would persue finding why you are having or had seizures, maybe a MRI can show something, I do not know if they do reveal the evidence of seizures.
My main point here is do not give up entirely on the medical professionals, maybe you just need to change the ones you are or have seen that failed you.
I wish you luck with this and hope for you to get to the heart of this seizure condition.
BTW Have you ever been DXed with Epilepsy? I know seizures can have different origins but this was the first one that came to my mind.
Take care,
