Friends who blame you for what happened are definatly not friends at all. It wasnt your fault that this happened, you were following the direction of you doctor.
You are not loosing it, and you are definatly not alone with this at all. Many of us have been through what you did including myself.
Have you sought out any therapy to deal with the assualt? Doing that would be the number one step. Getting treatment and so forth will make you feel better. Help you get a better understanding about what is going on with you and why you feel the way you do.
