Go for walks. Listen to music. Take a long bath. Those kind of things will also help.
I'm sorry you and your partner are having difficulties. It doesn't help with your problem. Especially, if he has anger management issues.

Oh, and one other thing that helps, is coming on here and venting. You will be surprised how it helps to get it off your chest and to have someone listen and support you.
