cant say I "Hate" the phone, but I do get anxious when it rings.......

another bill collector wanting money I cannot pay?
doctor calling to tell me I got something serious?
estranged mother calling to extol the virtues of her husband?

these and more are the fears I have when the phone rings
my coping mechanizim is to "play" secretary. ask who they are and for whom they are calling. if I don't like the vibe, or answer I simply say that I am not home, can I take a message. most times they hang up at that point.
