As long as the music doesn't make you want to drink and use drugs, go for it. I think you should listen to whatever appeals to you.

I do know some musicians in recovery who had to stop playing for awhile, because so much of their playing was associated with using. That being said, I know a guy who has been in recovery about 7 years who is rebuilding a career as a musician and it's really taking off for him.

I think everyone is individual and what works for one person may not work for someone else.
